BUTTERFLY
WATCHING TOUR: Who can fail to be delighted by butterflies – the
intensity and variety of their colors, their delicate beauty and fascinating
life cycles? This tour allow butterfly watching enthusiasts to observe
marvelous species in Bhutan.
ITINERARY
7 Nights / 8 Days
DAY 01: ARRIVE
PARO & GENERAL SIGHSEEING
On
your arrival you will be received by JSG from Dream Adventure Travel. And then
visit Paro dzong (also known as
“Rinpung dzong “is the venue for the annual Paro Tsechu festival held every
spring), National Museum (known as
‘Ta Dzong “since it has been turned into national museum, was the watch tower
of Paro dzong in 17th century), and lunch in town, after lunch visit
Kichu lhakhang (one of the oldest
temple in Bhutan, which dates back to 7th century before Buddhism
came to Bhutan).O/N PARO.
DAY 02: PARO – CHELELA – HAA – THIMPHU
After
the early breakfast in the hotel, drive up towards Chele-la pass @ 3980 m and
watch the early sunrise and on a clear weather, you have the magficient view of
snow capped mountains and also some of the biggest mountains of Bhutan. After the sun rise drive down towards Haa
Valley (the western most district of Bhutan sharing its border with Tibet. On
the way stop at some points where we can find some different species of
Butterflies. Further down hill will take you to Haa valley. Visiting the
sightseeing places depends on your own interest. Lunch in Haa Town and then
drive towards Thimphu, between Haa & Thimphu also you can find different
species of butterflies. O/N Thimphu

DAY 03: THIMPHU HALT
After
the breakfast in the hotel, your full day in Thimphu city begins with a hike
from the Thimphu view point to Dechenphodrang temple, this place is recommended
for Bird watching and also butterflies, since the place is mostly covered with
2 species of Oak tree and other flowers. Lunch in the town and after lunch,
drive towards Tango monastery through the dense oak tree forest where you can
find butterflies. O/N Thimphu.
General
sightseeing and leisure time depends on your interest.
DAY 04: THIMPHU – WANGDUEPHODRANG – TRONGSA
After
the breakfast transfer to Wangdi Phodrang,
the drive to Wangdi Phodrang is about 5 hours from Thimphu via Dochula pass at 3150m, one can have a
magnificent view of Eastern Himalayas on the clear weather from the pass. Further down hill drive from the pass will
take you to the warm and humid valley of Wangdi Phodrang and continue proceed
towards Trongsa. Crossing Pelela pass at
3360m. Photograph break at the pass, further 1hr30min drive from the pass
will take to the village of Chendebji where the lunch will be served in Tabdey
restaurant near Chenbdji stupa (the
Nepal style eye stupa). Further drive from the lunch spot will reach to the town
of Trongsa (the town in central
Bhutan). Sightseeing of Trongsa dzong
(the fortress in central Bhutan from where the Wang chuck dynasty came to power
in 1907).
DAY 05: TRONGSA – PUNAKHA
After
the breakfast in the hotel, drive back towards Punakha. In Punakha visit
Punakha dzong and also walk down the river side for watching the butterflies in
the subtropical regions. O/N Punakha
DAY 06: PUNAKHA – THIMPHU
Morning
hike to chimilhakhang (the fertility temple built by Lam Drukpa Kinley, who is known
as divine mad man), here also you can see few species of butterflies around. After
the hike, lunch at the restaurant and then drive towards Thimphu. In Thimphu
enjoy witnessing the Traditional dances and mask dances at Dream Garden
Restaurant, dinner and O/N THIMPHU
DAY 07: THIMPHU - PARO – TAKTSHANG
MONASTRY HIKE
AM
drive to Paro and hike toTaktshang
monastery (the monastery perched on the side of a cliff at a height of 900
meters above the Paro valley), here is one of the good opportunity to take
photos of the monks and beautiful scenery of the down valley on the way. Evening visit one of the farmhouse and enjoy
Bhutanese hot stone bath and also the picture of farmhouse, family members and
the traditional food and bath. O/N PARO.
DAY 08: PBH/BKK.
B/fast
in hotel and drive to airport for the flight to the next destination. See off
