ITINERARY

7 Nights / 8 Days

DAY 01:  ARRIVE PARO & GENERAL SIGHSEEING

On your arrival you will be received by JSG from Dream Adventure Travel. And then visit Paro dzong (also known as “Rinpung dzong “is the venue for the annual Paro Tsechu festival held every spring), National Museum (known as ‘Ta Dzong “since it has been turned into national museum, was the watch tower of Paro dzong in 17^th century), and lunch in town, after lunch visit Kichu lhakhang (one of the oldest temple in Bhutan, which dates back to 7^th century before Buddhism came to Bhutan).O/N PARO.

DAY 02: PARO – CHELELA – HAA – THIMPHU

After the early breakfast in the hotel, drive up towards Chele-la pass @ 3980 m and watch the early sunrise and on a clear weather, you have the magficient view of snow capped mountains and also some of the biggest mountains of Bhutan.  After the sun rise drive down towards Haa Valley (the western most district of Bhutan sharing its border with Tibet. On the way stop at some points where we can find some different species of Butterflies. Further down hill will take you to Haa valley. Visiting the sightseeing places depends on your own interest. Lunch in Haa Town and then drive towards Thimphu, between Haa & Thimphu also you can find different species of butterflies. O/N Thimphu

DAY 03: THIMPHU HALT

After the breakfast in the hotel, your full day in Thimphu city begins with a hike from the Thimphu view point to Dechenphodrang temple, this place is recommended for Bird watching and also butterflies, since the place is mostly covered with 2 species of Oak tree and other flowers. Lunch in the town and after lunch, drive towards Tango monastery through the dense oak tree forest where you can find butterflies. O/N Thimphu.

General sightseeing and leisure time depends on your interest. 

DAY 04: THIMPHU – WANGDUEPHODRANG – TRONGSA

After the breakfast transfer to Wangdi Phodrang, the drive to Wangdi Phodrang is about 5 hours from Thimphu via Dochula pass at 3150m, one can have a magnificent view of Eastern Himalayas on the clear weather from the pass.  Further down hill drive from the pass will take you to the warm and humid valley of Wangdi Phodrang and continue proceed towards Trongsa. Crossing Pelela pass at 3360m. Photograph break at the pass, further 1hr30min drive from the pass will take to the village of Chendebji where the lunch will be served in Tabdey restaurant near Chenbdji stupa (the Nepal style eye stupa). Further drive from the lunch spot will reach to the town of Trongsa (the town in central Bhutan). Sightseeing of Trongsa dzong (the fortress in central Bhutan from where the Wang chuck dynasty came to power in 1907).

DAY 05: TRONGSA – PUNAKHA

After the breakfast in the hotel, drive back towards Punakha. In Punakha visit Punakha dzong and also walk down the river side for watching the butterflies in the subtropical regions. O/N Punakha

DAY 06: PUNAKHA – THIMPHU

Morning hike to chimilhakhang (the fertility temple built by Lam Drukpa Kinley, who is known as divine mad man), here also you can see few species of butterflies around. After the hike, lunch at the restaurant and then drive towards Thimphu. In Thimphu enjoy witnessing the Traditional dances and mask dances at Dream Garden Restaurant, dinner and O/N THIMPHU

DAY 07: THIMPHU - PARO – TAKTSHANG MONASTRY HIKE

AM drive to Paro and hike toTaktshang monastery (the monastery perched on the side of a cliff at a height of 900 meters above the Paro valley), here is one of the good opportunity to take photos of the monks and beautiful scenery of the down valley on the way.  Evening visit one of the farmhouse and enjoy Bhutanese hot stone bath and also the picture of farmhouse, family members and the traditional food and bath. O/N PARO.

DAY 08: PBH/BKK.

B/fast in hotel and drive to airport for the flight to the next destination. See off by the guide and driver of Dream Adventure Travel.

FORGETTING is Tough, better IGNORE it

I walk my usual walk by the highway to Buddha point; I feel the warmth of fresh Thimphu air against my face. I make up my mind to sit down overlooking the tiny populated city – Thimphu and my mind speculate how fast time had flirted that how I have misused my last seven years in her thoughts and waiting for her to come. I linger back all those old stone-dead memories, making me sad, making me glad, taking me back to those wonderful days when I was madly in love with her, transporting me to those bitter-sweet times of romance and heartbreak which have a very faint and fragile hope of success. I wanted to go back in time as well as needed to forget the past and escape from this moment as well. It’s hard for me to guess what I did?
Kinga and I first met seven years ago as a high school student. The moment I met her, a ray of love sparked my heart like never before as I realized that she was the one I had been waiting for. Her beautiful face dressed with cute smile attracted me most. At time we became the best friends while I loved her with all my heart. The best part of my life was to spend with her. We used to walk together, meet during weekends and spent hours by talking about ourselves. I still remember the way she smiles when she heard humors of my home town Paro. I cherished every moment spent with her and we promised we would do all in our power to make that part of our life go on and on. But all things, beautiful and ugly, must come to close and reduce to its end. The joy of my life that love afforded ended when I was placed in Nangkor. She stayed in my dreams and though I knew that dreams seldom come true. I still loved to dream about her. Not a day ended without the thought of her and she was always present in all my dreams at night and day. I spent most of my time by thinking of her and calling through phones that not giving good response.
The months and the days passed and the time came for me to go for winter break. Fate and luck were not with us. We were to lead separate lives, will meet in the next session was my prayers and wishes. I was dying in listen to her voice and to see her face. At our separate days, I had a lot of expectations from her. Even if not love reciprocated, a friendly chat would serve the purpose of quenching the thirst of my love for her. My eyes dogged her every move and I wanted to talk to her, but when nothing happened and she gave no damn of even remembering of me, I realize that I must stop hoping for her even if I could not stop loving her. It dawned on me that if we were not meant for each other and if she never loved me, no force on earth could bring us together. It is today where love is ever in the air when I again remember her and wanted to know where and what she was doing. But it was a vain dream and with time I managed to forget. I recall her only as a girl, who was like a star that I could never catch even if I tried for many years. It began to look like I had wasted my previous time by thinking of her and calling her through phones by wasting the money earned with sweat and toil. Deep in my heart I love her more than before, if only she could change. I wish I could tell her that I love her so much but I can’t let my heart rule my head.

Alpine festival

The Haa festival also known as Alpine festival will start off in Haa, Bhutan.  The festival is being organised by the dzongkhag administration of Haa and Tourism council of Bhutan to attract tourist.
This is an opportunity to explore the high alpine valleys of Haa, learn about the nomadic life there and tap into the ancient culture rhythms of Haaps, as the people there are known. Tourist can get a taste of home-cooked delicacies; will have opportunity to ride yaks and play traditional Bhutanese games such as archery, khuru (dart) and soksum (javelin). Folk dances and mask dances will be making the festival more colorful.
Haapai Hoentoe, the hearty dumpling made from buckwheat and filled with grated turnip, dried turnip greens, mushrooms, garlic, onion and chopped cabbage, is Haa’s delicacy.
The festival will also showcase Nublang cattle show, a breed of cattle unique to the Haaps, the Nublangs trace their origins to a legendary lake called the Nub Tshonapata. According to a local myth, this special breed of cattle was granted as a present to a herder from Haa for his kindness to a deity of the lake.
Haa is the ancestral home to the Dorji family and Haap religious life revolves around the appeasement of Buddhist and Shamanic (Bon) deities and entities including Ap Chhundu, their guardian spirit, believed to protect all people born in Haa. The people of Haa inhabit high villeya above 3000 meters, they are strong boned and resilient. Wheat, potatoes, barley and millet are commonly grown there. They are known for their skills in the traditional 13 Arts and crafts of Bhutan.

Bhutan – the “hotbed of ecological diversity”.

Environmentally, Bhutan is considered as one of the 10 hotspots in the world and as one of the 221 global endemic bird areas.”

Bhutan has 72% of its area under forest cover. Bhutan is one of the few developing countries where much of the natural resources base is still remain intact. One of the reasons is that people of Bhutan love their natural environment and have been living in harmony with its elements respecting the sanctity of life and revering the mountains, forests and rivers as abodes of gods and spirits. The magnificent mountains and lush valleys of Bhutan harbor some of the most exotic species of the eastern Himalayas. An estimated 770 species of birds and about 55 species of rhododendron, along with an astounding variety of medicinal plants (over 300 species) and orchids are endemic to this region. The abundance of wild flowers, birds and many more plants are yet to be named, so there are many exciting opportunities to discover more about flora and fauna of this fascinating Himalayan Kingdom. Bhutan has an impressive diversity of plants and animals because of its unique geographical location in the eastern Himalayas with its extensive altitudinal variation, from 150 meters in the south to over 7,000 meters in the north, which is accompanied by dramatic climatic changes. This variations makes home for different animals and plants, for example in the southern part of Bhutan we have Asiatic elephants, Greater one-horned rhinos, Gaur, wild water buffalo, Hog Dear, Tiger, Clouded leopard, Hornbill, and other mammals and various species of birds. In the north we have Blue sheep, Takin, Musk deer, Snow Leopard, wolf and more adoptable species whose range extends to both tropical and temperate zones live between this two extremes like, barking deer, Himalayan black bear, Leopard, wild dog, wild boar etc. etc.

Nine national parks and wild life sanctuaries are home to some of the rare and most significant animals in the world. This has become possible as a result of the combined efforts of the government and the people to keep the country’s flora and fauna undisturbed.

Best Season to visit Bhutan

Bhutan has four seasons in a year;

Winter:  from December until February,

Spring: from March to May,

Summer:  from June to August and

Autumn:  from September until November.

Though it is possible to visit Bhutan throughout the year, the best seasons to visit Bhutan are in spring and autumn. During these months of the year, Bhutan has not only favorable and pleasant climatic conditions but also has lot of on-going festivals and events within the country.


Spring and autumn are also the peak season amongst the tourist and unless the tour reservation is made 2 months before the departure date to Bhutan, it is usually very difficult to visit Bhutan within short notice of your reservations. This is because of limited seat capacity in Druk-Air, the only airline that flies in and out of Bhutan and constraint of accommodation facilities and other infrastructures within the country.
